The coaches at Orpington are all qualified to at least Rugby level one. Some are Level two and the Youth Section insists that any helper or potential coach is trained to at least level one before they can train a child on their own.
Some of the coaches have also undertaken other Sport specific training, like SAQ (Speed, Agility & Quickness), which includes the bungee style exercises (see Pictures)
Also some coaches have been trained in matters like Child protection, Equity issues, disability people in sport and First Aid |

| Recently the RFU and Orpington RFC have undertaken to have every Coach checked by the Criminal Records Bureau. The game of Rugby is checking every coach and also staff of a club to ensure that its entire staff that come in contact with Children are cleared & checked. |
|
|
| This ensures that Orpington’s Coaches are rated amongst the best in the UK and that they are qualified to a level that gives Children a safe and secure environment to play Rugby in. |
